    Beginner-Friendly Pop-Up Class

    Friday, June 5th and 19th, 6PM

    Discover the joy of movement through modern hula hoop dance in this beginner-friendly class. Hoops are provided, and no prior experience is needed.

    More than just a childhood pastime, hula hooping has evolved into a playful and creative movement practice that blends dance, coordination, and gentle fitness. Hooping offers a full-body workout that builds strength, balance, endurance, and body awareness — all while staying connected to music and flow.

    This class will focus primarily on movements in the horizontal plane. No worries if you can’t waist hoop — you’ll learn a variety of on-body and off-body hoop techniques accessible to beginners.

    Class includes:

    A gentle warm-up

    Step-by-step instruction of foundational hoop moves

    Guided flow sequences to music

    Creative exploration and free-flow time

    A grounding cool down

    Expect an encouraging environment, approachable instruction, a fun playlist, and plenty of hoops to borrow.

    If you enjoy music, dance, mindful movement, or trying something new, this class is a beautiful opportunity to reconnect with play, creativity, and your body.

    Please bring:

    A water bottle

    Clean sneakers

    Your own hoop if you have a favorite

    A willingness to explore, experiment, and make mistakes along the way

    Your instructor, Julia, has been hula hooping for 13 years and performing for 8 years. Her own journey with hoop dance began as a way to reconnect with joy, confidence, creativity, and embodied movement. She teaches in a grounded, accessible, and supportive style that welcomes all experience levels.

    2nd Sundays at the Park | FREE Movement + Community

    Join Discover Yoga and Fort Wayne Parks & Recreation for a morning of free, all-levels movement at beautiful Promenade Park—every 2nd Sunday of the month.

    We begin with Barre at 9:15 AM, using chairs for balance. This class is low-impact, strength-focused, and accessible for all levels—no experience needed.

    Then stay for Yoga at 10:30 AM, a beginner-friendly flow designed to help you move, breathe, and reset in a scenic outdoor setting. Whether you’re brand new or a regular, this class meets you where you are.

    While we offer these classes daily at the studio, this is our chance each month to take it outside and connect as a community.

    Location: Amphitheater at Promenade Park

    Weather Plan: Indoors if it rains. In June, we’ll meet on the historic Wells Street Bridge.

    Take a pause from the chaos of daily life and celebrate connection, self-love, and mindful movement. Bridging the Gap Between Movement + Music is a musical wellness experience presented by the Fort Wayne Philharmonic in partnership with beloved local studio Discover Yoga.

    This collaboration invites you to reconnect with your body, quiet your mind, and experience the powerful harmony between music and movement — together.

    Reserve your spot and treat yourself (and your friends) to an evening of relaxation, balance, and intentional self-care.

    Please bring your own yoga mat. Blocks and bolster pillows will be provided (while supplies last). This yoga session is for all ability levels and can be adapted to be accessible for all.
